Dr. Robert Lawson, MD

Dr. Robert Lawson, MD

Dr. Robert Lawson, MD, is a Vietnam veteran with over 34 years of experience in the medical field, including two years of pediatrics focus and one year of surgery focus. He has previously served as a family practice physician as well.

Robert received his undergraduate education at the University of South Carolina. He furthered his education with graduate degrees from Milligan College and East Tennessee State University. Additionally, he is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and began practicing emergency medicine in 1981.

Robert lives on a landscaping tree farm in Piney Flats, Tennessee, with is wife Carrie and two children, Rose and Charlie. He has one granddaughter, Piper. He raises bird dogs for grouse and duck hunting. Robert enjoys spending his free time with his family and dogs.

Lance DeBord, PA-C

Lance DeBord, PA-C

Lance DeBord, PA-C, began his medical career at age 20 as a hospital phlebotomist. He continued to pursue his education and received degrees in Medical Technology. He worked for 10 years as a Medical Technologist, Microbiologist, and Laboratory Manager.

Lance returned to school to at Jefferson College of Health Science, attaining his Physician Assistant medical degree. He specialized in Emergency Medicine upon graduation, working for several many years at Bristol Regional Hospital and Holston Valley Emergency departments. During the same time, he then began working in urgent care while also working part time in family medicine. In 2010, he ventured into a joint partnership establishing Boones Creek and Erwin Urgent Care facilities.

He holds special interests in the treating children and adolescents with acute illness, as well as geriatrics.

Lance also has degrees in Health Care Administration. Is Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and is a DOT Certified Medical Examiner.

Lance is actively involved in weight training, aerobic and strength conditioning, and performing music. He lives with his wife and four children and most enjoys the simple pleasures in life like woodworking, fishing, and spending quality time with family.

Gary Lloyd, PA-C

Gary Lloyd, PA-C

Gary Lloyd, PA-C, has 35+ years of experience in health care. He is a volunteer with Erwin Emergency and Rescue Squad. Gary has eight years of experience as a Critical Care Unit and Emergency Room nurse, and an additional 24 years in rural health, primary care, and family practice.

Gary received training as an Emergency Medical Technician at Northeast State Technical College. His undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing and public health are from East Tennessee State University. He has certification as a Critical Care / Emergency Room RN. Gary received his Masters Degree in Medicine from Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Gary was born, raised, and educated in Erwin, Tennessee. He is a United States Air Force veteran. He lives in Unicoi, Tennessee with his wife Sharon. Some of his favorite activities are participating at his local church Southside Free Will Baptist Church, being involved with his grandchildren, and spending time with family. He enjoys traveling, Broadway shows, the Vol’s, and any activity in the mountains.

Michael Baines, PA-C

Michael Baines, PA-C

Michael Baines, PA-C, is originally from Bristol, Tennessee. He has over 26 years of medical experience, including being a first responder paramedic for many years. Michael has particular interest in Emergency Medicine.

Michael received his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University and proceeded to obtain his medical degree from Mountain State University.

Michael lives in Boones Creek on a farm with his wife Charo and three children. He enjoys music and playing drums.

Travis Hughes, PA-C

Travis Hughes, PA-C

Travis Hughes, PA-C, specializes in Emergency Medicine. He has over 13 years of medical experience.

Travis received his Associate‘s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology from Northeast State Community College and proceeded to receive both his Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Science and Medical Degree from Mountain State University in Beckley, West Virginia.

Originally from Erwin, Tennessee, Travis now lives in Piney Flats, Tennessee. He has two children, Darrell and Paislee. He enjoys motor cycle riding and driving his Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, as well as spending quality time with family and friends.
